Revival School of the Arts Logo

The Revival School of the Arts is a St. Louis after-school program that meets weekly for group and individual music lessons and teaching about Christian worship. Advanced players gather on twice weekly for ensemble instruction and to develop songs.

Revival School of the Arts serves to educate young people from diverse cultural backgrounds toward a common vision for worship through training in the arts and the Bible. They wanted a logo that represented the idea of a diverse mix of cultures coming together around a common purpose.

The logo approaches this idea by using letters/characters from many different languages – none of them English – to form the English word “Revival”. We worked hard to choose characters and fonts which, when sized equally, had similar stroke weights.

The end result is a memorable logo that looks, at first glance, like a handwritten English word, but upon closer inspection reveals the unity of many cultures. The logo unites characters from Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, and Early Cyrillic alphabets.
